Challenge/Overview:
Building on existing resources, a 480 bed community hospital in an urban market seeks to develop new thoracic oncology clinical services to better meet the needs of their community and provide market differentiation from their competition.
Accelitech Solution:
Provide on-site support to establish clinical programs and services that will open new entryways for thoracic patients into the health system, provide mediums for multidisciplinary community physician collaboration, monitor programmatic and market referral activity, establish marketing strategies specific to consumers and referring physicians and enact a fluid strategic plan for consistent growth. Programs to be established included a LDCT Lung Cancer Screening Program, a Thoracic Tumor Board, a Multi-disciplinary Clinic and a Patient Navigation Program.
Project Outcome:
The LDCT lung cancer screening program was the first in the market, designated a center of excellence and best practice by multiple organizations and exceeded industry average volumes by 50% providing a robust entryway for new patients into the health system. Overall analytic lung cases increased 10% within one year and thoracic surgical volumes increased 18%. Radiation oncology service lines also experienced growth with an increase in attributed revenue of $360K in one year and growing. Over 100 patients have benefited from mutli-disciplinary support established by Accelitech.
